Event Description: On Wednesday evenings throughout October, the 2017 Muskegon Area Arts and Humanities Festival (ahfest) will show and discuss four films associated with WATER, the ahfest’s theme this year, at the Muskegon Museum of Art, 296 W Webster Ave. in downtown Muskegon. Admission is free and open to the public. Each movie will be followed by a brief discussion. All films begin promptly at 5 p.m., when the doors will be closed. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early. A cash bar for beer and wine, along with free popcorn, will be available. For more information, contact Mary Tyler at (231) 777-0327. The Fight for Water: A Farm Worker Struggle (2014) When an environmental ruling shuts the water pumps to a region of the California Central Valley, a community of valley farmers and their farm workers stage a march across the California Central Valley in order to fight for their water. The film stars George Delgado, Joe del Bosque and producer Juan Carlos Oseguera. The movie was voted the Best Documentary Feature at the International Monarch Film Festival and the Vina de Oro Fresno International Film Festival.
